TRON Signing

So TRON Legacy was released today.  I got up and went to the Disney Store to pick up my copy, and then to the beauty supply store to get some hair for my Rapunzel wig.  I planned to work on it while I watched the movie, but when I got home my roommate informed me that there was a signing with the directors and we needed to go.  So I immediately got dressed up in my TRON finest and we headed out.

We were worried we wouldn't make it in time, but we got there by 4 and easily got wristbands.  I took a picture with the poster lol
My typical TRON outfit.  I haven't gotten new fabric for my actual costume.

We got in line, and we were pretty close to the front.  So we were some of the first to meet the directors.  We got to meet Joseph Kosinski and Steven Lisberger.  They were really nice.  When I walked up, Steven Lisberger said "Wow, a real female!" haha!  Then they commented on my outfit (first they said Quorra, and then realized that it was more based on Gem [at least makeup and hair]).  I got to take a picture with them also.
All in all it was a cool experience.  Now I'm going to go watch the movie since I didn't earlier!

Disney Day

Yesterday I went to Disneyland with friends!  I wore what I call "cutesy casual".

With Rapunzel. I asked Flynn about the tiara and when he showed it to me, it was missing a few stones, which I pointed out.  She got mad at him and told him that she let him hold it so nothing would happen.
Outfit breakdown
Sweater- Tralala
Top- Sanrio
Skirt- Target
Boots- Secret Shop

With the Fairy Godmother.  My friend suggested I take a picture with her because "I'm a princess".  Maybe she can help me find a prince XD

Loot.  The doll is a cosplay reference... this weekend I was working on embroidery patterns for the skirt, and I couldn't find any shots of the back of the skirt hem.  But after looking at the doll, it looks to be accurate, so I'll be using it for the embroidery patterning on the hem.  The pin is one I've been wanting for a while, but it was out of stock for quite a while.

But the best part was finding the Master Key disk!
When I found out it was released, my friend and I went on an epic journey to 15 Targets trying to find one.  She found one but I didn't.  At California Adventure I was asking at every store, and they didn't have any (apparently there is only one in each box of disks).  But at the last store they had it.  I was so excited!

As with my black disk, I modified it to look more like the disks in the movie.  At elecTRONica people kept asking if my black one was a special replica when all I did was remove the outer ring haha!  I did the same with this one.

Other than that, I've just been working and going to class.  It's a bit strange to be back in school after a year!

elecTRONica and such

Last night I went to elecTRONica with my friend, and I actually took some nice pics this time!
Outfit shot.  Yes, it's pretty much the same one.  I did modify my identity disk though; they come with a ring around the edge, which indicates battle mode.  Since I'm not battling anyone I removed it.  People kept thinking that it was some special prop replica haha!

Makeup shot.  I did similar makeup to my siren makeup.  I used a different powder and didn't add the pigments this time, as well as using a bit less and not drawing on the eyebrows.  I guess it looked pretty good because people kept asking if I worked there!

With Eckert again.  Now he has a wig.  I think it looked better with the other hair, but I'm not in charge.  I'd have him wear a wig that looks like Castor's in the film.

In front of Flynn's.  I don't usually play anything there because I'm terrible at video games.  I tried to play TRON once and died quite quickly.

My friend and I have also been on a hunt for the white identity disk.  Between the 2 of us, we've been to 8 stores and still have not found it!  I really need it for my costume that I'm making so I hope I can find it soon.

Disneyland and TRON makeup

I went to Disneyland twice in the past week.

I went on 12/23

Kim and I saw Rapunzel and Flynn.  Also a good shot of my outfit.
Jacket, T-shirt- Disney
Skirt, Sweater- Tralala
Socks- Angelic Pretty
Boots- Secret Shop
Leggings- Forever 21
Necklace- Sanrio

I did double buns for the first time in a while.  I used to do them pretty often when my hair was longer, but they are harder to do with shorter hair.  I was afraid they would come out, but they stayed pretty well.

Myself with Eckhert, owner of the elecTRONica club.  Unfortunately the flash didn't go off.  He told me I got the award for dancing because I literally danced for all of elecTRONica (4 hours).  I just really love to dance!

I went again on Sunday for a friend's birthday.  I wore a TRON themed outfit.

I didn't get any good pics of my outfit :(  I was wearing my jacket here because it was cold all day.  I finally figured out a way to hang the disk off my belt easily and so it was easy to remove and modded my disk to be in "normal" mode instead of "battle" mode.  I like it much better this way!

I also entered a TRON makeup contest.
The contest was to replicate the makeup from either Quorra or one of the Sirens.  I chose to do the Siren makeup.

Siren Gem

My version.
I tried to replicate the hair as well.  They have huge buns so I used extensions around the base to make it bigger.  The base was made by mixing BB Cream with different MAC pigments to lighten it and add some shimmer.  I also mixed some pigments in with m setting powder.  The eyes were done using heavy eyeliner; I used pa for this one since the brush tip is bigger and I needed to fill in a larger area.  The top lashes are pa and the bottom lashed are MAC and Diamond Lash (I used some that I usually wear on top and flipped them upside down).  I also drew the brows in since they pretty much got covered by the base and I wanted the proper shape.  For lips I used MAC Viva Glam Gaga with a thin layer of the base over it.

I was pretty happy with the makeup, although my photos didn't turn out too well.  I don't use photoshop, so the only adjustment was to the lighting.  I also wish there had been some way to replicate the lighting, but it would not have worked with my camera and skills.

I also found another picture of my Holiday Hot Mess outfit that I really like
Picture is from LookBookLA.com

Remember there's still a giveaway going on!  The winner will be picked on Friday!
